I needed a place to store all my Christmas stuff so I decided to build overhead storage in the garage. The size is 4x8 which made it all easy to put together, I used 2x4's for the frame and plywood for the decking. The two sides are attached to the side wall and front walls. I used lag bolts with washers for everything. (I get these from Tractor Supply because they sell it by the pound and it always much cheaper than the normal hardware stores.) To support the 4th corner I used angle iron that I spanned across 2 ceiling joists to distribute the weight. It came out great and could easily hold a few hundred pounds. I hung from the 4th corner and the shelf did not even flex.
